Other Product Reviews And Recommendations:
In addition to EMC2 Advanced Acne Cream, you will need a cleanser/soap, moisturizer, and oil blotter. Oil blotters can be found in our store. Below are specific cleansers and moisturizers that I highly recommend to use along with EMC2. You can find these products at your local drugstore or you can click on the pictures to get them online. If you haven't already, make sure to read the How To Use page for complete instructions.
Non-comedogenic cleansers
(for sensitive/normal skin):
Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser | Cetaphile Gentle Cleansing Bar |
Back when I first started using acne products and had very sensitive skin, I found Cetaphil extremely gentle and mild. Most importantly, it doesn't cause irritation or breakouts. Unless you already have a favorite soap of your own, I definitely recommend Cetaphil’s non-comedogenic cleansers.
salicylic acid acne washes (for stubborn acne. Caution: may be irritating):
Neutrogena Power-Foam Wash | Neutrogena Power-Cream Wash |
When it comes to salicylic acid washes, Neutrogena is by far my favorite. I have been using their wash for over 2 years now and have no complaints. Their Power-Foam Wash (pictured on the left) is made with a 0.5% salicylic formula and is for people who have oily but, sensitive skin. Their Power-Cream Wash (pictured on the right) is a traditional 2% wash that is what I use and is more suitable for people who have stubborn acne.
Oil free moisturizers:
Neutrogena Ultra-Light Moisturizer |
Neutrogena Sensitive Skin |
Neutrogena SPF 15 |
I personally use and recommend Neutrogena Moisture Oil Free Formula. I really like this line because it doesn’t make me breakout and they have a good variety of lotions to choose from. Their Ultra-Light moisturizer (pictured on far left) is suitable for most people who need basic moisturizing. I love this particular lotion because just as its name suggests, it’s really light and doesn’t leave your skin looking/feeling greasy. For people who need a lot of moisturizing or have very sensitive skin, I recommend their Oil Free Formula, Sensitive Skin (pictured in the middle). Their 15 SPF moisturizer (pictured on far right) is nice for people who are outdoors a lot and need the extra protection. I find it works best as a secondary lotion that you use before going out in the sun since it seems to leave a shine for most people.
